AhlulBayt News Agency: Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Ziaeddin Aqajanpour, head of the Iranian Defense Ministry’s Ideo-Political Organization, has emphasized the Holy Quran as the ultimate cure for the challenges facing the Islamic Ummah. He highlighted its strategic role in addressing individual, social, and political issues, lamenting that adherence to its teachings has weakened over time.

Speaking at a gathering in Tehran on Friday to honor Quran teachers of the Defense Ministry, Aqajanpour expressed concern that while the cries of the oppressed are heard worldwide, the Islamic Ummah has failed to respond effectively. He stressed that the Quran provides clear guidance on confronting oppression, defining the boundaries of friendship and enmity, and standing against injustice. However, he regretted that despite its presence among Muslims, its teachings are not being fully practiced.

Quoting a Hadith from the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Aqajanpour reiterated that the best among Muslims are those who learn the Quran and teach it to others. He underscored the vital role of Quran teachers and those who promote its teachings in society.

The cleric also highlighted the increasing Quranic activities within Iran’s Defense Ministry, noting that the ministry currently operates 18 specialized Quranic schools. Additionally, he revealed that more than 7,400 staff members have memorized portions of the Quran, with 229 individuals having committed the entire Holy Book to memory.
